Once again I have let this blog go a bit too long but since Jim is out celebrating his last day of finals at the IMAX watching “Star Trek” and the kids are all asleep, now seems to be the best time to catch up. We had Avery’s birthday a few weeks early because we celebrated FIVE babies in our courtyard turning one at the same time. We have triplets living next door so three of the five came from one house. We deci ded to have a big neighborhood cookout. Our courtyard consists of about 10 families but when you factor in all of the kids we all have, neighborhood BBQs usually have at least 40+. Did I mention that the triplets had about 20 family members in town? They were the life of the party too I might add. There were tons of decorations, tons of burgers and of course, tons of cute little babies turning 1. I made 4 pink tutus for the 4 baby girls and the baby boy’s mom made him a big crown to wear. He was the king of the party. I don’t think you can get anything cuter than 5 babies in a row doing anything but put tutus and crowns on them and you end up with absolutely priceless pictures. All the kids had a great time playing outside and having water balloon fights but the highlight of the party was lining the birthday babies up and watching them all eat cake. It was funny to see how they all would respond. Baby Emily dove in face first which just reminded me so much of Alli and her green Tinkerbell first birthday cake (she was covered). Avery picked at hers a little bit and eventually decided she liked it. Overall, it was an absolutely perfect day. I have thrown several parties over the past five years but this was definitely one of my favorites.
