Well I have been planning on starting a blog for a while but have found very little time to actually start one. I hope I can catch you up, keep it up, and give you all a little taste of what is going on in the always adventurous Gifford house. The fun never stops here and there are always plenty of stories to tell. I'll start with the most exciting event of this year; the birth of Avery Brooke. She was born May 20th at 7:12 PM just three days before my sister's high school graduation. My doctor was nice enough to induce labor just so I could make it down to Dallas in time to see it. He was also nice enough to throw some scrubs on Jim just minuted before she was born and let him do the actual delivery, with the doctor's assistance of course. It was quite an experience for all of us. Jim said there was no way he would have been able to do it had he had any time to think about it. I think because my doctor knew Jim was deployed when Cole was born, he wanted to make sure he was as involved as possible. But back to Avery- she was 7 lb. 7 oz. when she was born which is pretty small in our house. She was absolutely perfect and beautiful. My mom brought Cole and Alli up to the hospital and Avery had of course brought them each big brother and big sister presents so they decided she could hang out with them right away. My mom took Cole and Alli back to Dallas with her the next day and Jim and I spent two very peaceful days in the hospital with our new daughter. We checked out on the 22nd, spent one night at home, and drove down to Dallas the morning of the graduation. There wasn't much time to spare but the entire week worked out just perfectly.
